Who we are
Slipborne is made by Clarity Bytes, LLC. Questions about your data can go to a moderator on our Discord.
What we store
- Your profile: handle, display name, avatar link, whether your profile is public, and when you joined and were last active.
- Linked logins: your Steam ID and/or Discord user ID with the public name and avatar those services report. We request only Discord's basic identify permission — not your email, servers or messages. We never see your passwords.
- Sessions: a hashed session token per signed-in browser or game install, with a device label such as “Chrome on Windows”.
- Online play: servers you host (name, mode, player count, the private connection id the game needs), which servers you were given a join ticket for, and run results your host reports.
- Moderation: reports you file or that are filed about you, suspensions, and an audit log of moderator actions.
What we don't do
- We don't store players' IP addresses in our database, and we never show host or player IP addresses in the server browser, join codes, profiles or leaderboards.
- We don't sell data, run advertising or use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes connection data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site, and we use it briefly in memory for rate limiting. Player-hosted games connect through Epic Online Services, which handles connection data under Epic's own privacy policy.
Cookies
We set one sign-in cookie (sb_session) and, during sign-in only, a short-lived state cookie that protects you from forged logins. Both are strictly necessary; there are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Public information
Your handle and display name are visible to other players. With a public profile, your stats and recent runs are too; you can make your profile private from your account page. Active suspensions may be listed publicly with a short reason.
Your choices
- Edit your profile, unlink a login or sign out any device from your account page.
- Delete your account from your account page. This removes your profile, logins, sessions and run history immediately. Accounts can't be deleted while suspended.
